CAST: KARTHI , NARAIN , DHEENA;
DIRECTOR: LOKESH KANAGARAJ
HELLO READERS!
Action flicks are just not my type. But this film even made those sense less action sequences interesting. If you are looking for a perfect action thriller then you shouldn’t miss this masterpiece of Karthi.
Dilli, is forcefully asked to drive a lorry to carry drugged police men to a hospital though he was just released from jail and is eager to meet his daughter for the very first time the next day. Bejoy, a police officer bursts out a drug racket that is worth hundreds of crores and obviously there are some big people involved in it. To prevent the bursting of this racket , the drug lords have drugged the policemen. The rest of the story is about their 80km journey to the hospital carrying drugged policemen with a black sheep amongst them. The story unfolds slowly and carefully and I must say that this film has one of the most passionate “eating” scenes ever. Dilli’s hunger and the love for food that he has missed all these years in jail in clearly depicted in the scene.
Well , in the movie , there are multiple tracks or sequences running parallely. I love the commissioner house sequence the most. It is very engaging and thrilling. You must have figured it out by now that this film takes place in the time span or one night or maybe less than that. Such films usually tend to give too much detail which makes the film boring but this isn’t something like that.
The mood of the film is very serious( with a little bit of comic relief from a guy who travels with Dilli and Bejoy) and the director intended it to be that way. One must note that there are no songs , item numbers or even a heroine in the film. Its actually a good thing because if those were there , the film would’ve lost its character.
Dilli is a widower and as a dark past(which is not completely revealed) and the love he has for is daughter is evident from so many scenes in the film. He would kill or get killed to meet his daughter.
Karthi had done an excellent job and the emotional scenes were too god. He has single handedly run the show. All the other supporting characters also justified their role.
Well , there were also some unrealistic scenes in the film. The action sequences were exaggerated and were unnecessary in some places. Overall , this film has solid story , flawless acting , master class taking and an open climax which indicates that it might have a prequel or sequel to it. It is a brilliant and engaging thriller and one can watch it to experience some action.
